Orkester brez meja/Senza Confini – celebrating the 300th anniversary of the peasant uprising in Tolmin

Orkester brez meja/Senza Confini (“no borders orchestra”) unites young musicians from Italy and Slovenia interested in free improvisation in group context. Its members are originally active in Zlatko Kaučič Kombo and in Diabo Lab from Italy. The orchestra has already performed three times at “Brda Contemporary Music Festival” which tries to support the collaboration of musicians from both sides of the Gorica Hills (Goriška Brda) and has become a traditional musical event in the region. On the first occasion, the orchestra was lead by a world known free jazz saxophone player Evan Parker from Great Britain. Last year a leading German figure in improvisation Johannes Bauer took over, who also participated at the event for Zlatko Kaučič’s 60th birthday in the Cankar Cultural Center in Ljubljana this year. An innovative, experimental, creative and improvisational musical event which will take you in the special world of ambient musical shades.
