GERTRUDE is a project born in 2021 with the intention of proposing a musical set that bridges the gap between improvised and written music. The formation has taken on the character of an acoustic quintet thanks to the union of intentions of some of the most interesting musicians active in north east Italy. The idea is to create a musical journey between more complex elements related to contemporary music and simpler but equally significant moments close to the approach of folk music.
The acoustic dimension of the group allows a direct and participative fruition by the audience, and where possible bypasses the media of amplification. This makes GERTRUDE a suitable ensemble for site-specific concerts and performances in naturalistic locations.
The concert in Sajeta is in collaboration with Dobialab and LIVE – Musiche di Sconfine.
