Katja Šulc is a singer and musician who eclectically threads together poetry and music through contemporary chanson, alternative folk, modern and traditional poetry, endangered languages and threatened cultures. In the spring of 2024 Katja released her fifth album “West Wind Blow From Your Prairie Nest” inspired by Native American poetry and culture, which she explored at the artist residency at the Institute of American Indian Arts (US). The music, which has been an important part of her life from her travels to Mexico and later studies at the university New School in New York, is always led by a deep emotional understanding. If poetry is a necessity which fills our life, Šulc takes us on the path of a nomadic flaneur of musical poetry.
