THE FISH // Show & Workshop by Teater PolPet

Children’s performance and workshop Authors: Polona Prosen and Yara Afram Boustany Performers: Polona Prosen and Petra Prosen

PERFORMANCE
Fish The performance “Fish” is a short but intense journey of two sailors. The monotonous everyday life of sailing is interrupted by a fish that suddenly jumps out of the sea, triggering a fishing experience that is hard to imagine… At times, the performance resembles a video game, as the heroines chase after the fish recklessly, forgetting everything else. However, when the game ends, they are not equally satisfied with the result. Burlesque, theatre of the absurd, music… without words, but with powerful imagery.
PUPPET MAKING WORKSHOP
After the performance, in which the main character is a fish, each child will be able to create their own puppet Fish and bring it to life through animation on a pre-prepared “puppet stage”. The workshop lasts from 45 to 60 minutes.

TEATER PolPet consists of POLona and PETra Prosen, who have been working under this name for several years. Polona has received theatrical-circus-scenographic education in Slovenia, Spain, and France. As a self-employed individual in the cultural sector, she currently focuses on theater, and storytelling, and works as a producer at Ana Monro Theater. Petra is an art teacher who also engages in puppetry, and theater, and leads art workshops. Together, they have created a short theater performance titled “Riba,” which they offer along with creative workshops for children. They perform with it throughout Slovenia, mainly at street theater festivals (Ana Mraz, Ana Pravljična, Ana Desetnica, Lent, San Sebastian (Spain)), at various events, and also in elementary schools.
