Osrednji in obenem edini konstantni \u010dlan od samega za\u010detka je Mark E. Smith. V vseh letih delovanja je skupina do\u017eivela \u0161tevilne stilske pa tudi kadrovske preobrazbe, a je v osnovi ostala zvesta osnovnim, prepoznavnim karakteristikam, ki jo zaznamujejo \u017ee od za\u010detka. Rezki kitarski zvoki, pogosta raba repeticije, vse skupaj pa debelo za\u010dinjeno s Smithovim prepoznavnim vokalom in njemu zna\u010dilno ve\u010dplastno poetiko.<br>Trenutni \u010dlani zasedbe so Mark E. Smith, Elena Poulou, David Spurr, Peter Greenway, Keiron Melling in Daren Garratt. Po lanskoletni izdaji albuma \u2018Sub-Lingual Tablet\u2019, so v februarju 2016 pri Cherry Red Records izdali \u017ee 32. album z naslovom \u2018Wise Ol\u2019 Man\u2019.
