Slow Light<\/em> seeking Darkness<\/em> is an artistic, cultural and ecological project of the Alps-Adriatic Region<\/em>
with partners from Austria, Slovenia, Italy, and Croatia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slow light\u2013seeking darkness is an artistic and creative engagement with the idea \u2013 and fact \u2013 of missing darkness, and the need for the dark. The project is interdisciplinary and collaborative, inviting artists, curators, activists, thinkers, etc. to explore many diverse aspects of the topic of darkness, in relation to e.g. art, culture, ecology, nature, the region, and its position in a broader Europe and a broader world physical and psychological effects of darkness on people and animals darkness as peace, respite, inspiration, physical requirement darkness as an environmental issue social and Ethical aspects of darkness
art-historical approaches to darkness, trance, mysticism, fear, and inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 8th<\/sup> of July 2021, \u201cSlow Light @ Sajeta\u201d will be launched with a podium discussion about various aspects of the need for darkness and light pollution, with participants including artists, activists, and scientists discussing their diverse approaches to darkness in the Alps-Adriatic region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The setting is an ideal location to consider the socio-cultural value of darkness, at the confluence of two rivers which characterize the rich cultural hybridity of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion is open to live audiences at Sotocje and will be streamed to YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(S)low Light \u2013 Seeking Darkness is one of four projects selected for co-funding by the Carinthian Cultural Foundation<\/a> as part of the first Austria-wide call under the motto \u201cUmbr\u00fcche\u201d (\u201cUpheavals\u201d).
Slow Light is a collaboration between Klanghaus Untegreith<\/a>, Stazione di Topol\u00f2<\/a>, Zveza Mink Tolmin<\/a>, Mani d.o.o. Hrelji 45<\/a> together with Radio Agora<\/a> and Verein Innenhofkultur.<\/a>
