SCULPTURE WORKSHOP – DOWN BY THE RIVER // Marijan Mirt

The workshop is part of the residency program of the project “Down to the River”, which is part of the official program of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica – Gorizia 2025.

“Sculpture is understood as the interpretation of material reality into a new expressive form that affects us from a visual, tactile, spatial, and communicative perspective. By using real materials, it allows for a tangible representation of non-material concepts or ideas.”

At the multi-day sculpture workshop, participants will learn about the technique of modeling. The basis of the sculpture will be a construction (skeleton) made of welded iron construction, covered in Teraton clay. They will create based on their own ideas. The mentor also encourages participants to envision what they would like to create before the start and to present their desires to him at the first meeting.
The sculpture that will result from this will be proof that sculpture is something exceptional, as the participant will have a three-dimensional object of their own idea realized.

The workshop is intended for complete beginners as well as those who already have experience in sculptural expression.

Workshop fee: 50€
