CARLO MASCOLO (Ita)

A trombone prepared solo project by Carlo Mascolo, an improvised musician who draws on previous experiences such as jazz, world music, computer music and improvised music, in search of new timbric-sound effects. Sound spatialization is a fundamental aspect of performance: “hand made “, it is diffused through three distinct “ways” of sound timbres. In improvisation performances, Carlo combines the legacy of the past with the new sounds of synthesized modernity, through unconventional techniques and modified inputs, so as to construct acoustic fabrics that seem to be generated by a synthesizer or an oscillator, so new life to its plastic and brass pipes. A great demonstration is present in his first solo album “My Tubes”, published by the Portuguese label Creative Sources.
