At the end of the 90s festival Sajeta started as a cluster of innovative and productive artistic workshops. Then in 2002 we realized there weren't any really provocative and challenging music festivals in Slovenia which would cross genres and offer electronic music, jazz, rock, ethno, experimental etc. on the same stage. We therefore wanted to make a strong author-driven festival that would acquaint audiences with contemporary approaches in music and also highlight overlooked names in this or that musical alternative.
Indeed, our invitations were taken up by artists as diverse as Akosh Szelevenyi, Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Damir Avdic, Alexander Balanescu, Francesco Cusa, Trevor Watts, Zlatko Kaučič, Fennesz, Richard Pinhas, Mapstation, Radian, Tujiko Noriko, Embryo, Cul de Sac, Saule, Vladimir Vaclavek, Thilges 3, Istvan Grencso, Philipp Quehenberger & ddkern, Korai Öröm, Sluta Leta, Kampec Dolores, Vasko Atanasovski, Leafcutter John, Tanja Feichtmeir, Salamandra Salamandra, Pieree-Yves Macé, The Magic Carpathians, General Magic, Mimesys, Maja Osojnik, Zakarya, Orton, Ole Lukkoye, Schlammpeitziger, Sylvain Chauveau, Joseph Suchy, B. Fleischmann and many others, all of whom we are grateful to for their wonderful contributions to the festival.
Sajeta 2008, the ninth so far, will take place at the end of July and beginning of August (28. 7. - 2. 8.). Again you can expect challanging musics, among them Dieter Moebius, Louis Sclavis, Pierre Bastien, Peter Brötzmann, workshops and spontaneus collaboratons among artists at the spot of the event...
